"The Prestige" is a movie directed by Christopher Nolan. Christopher Nolan's movies are always my favorite. The Prestige reveal the foolishness of human that are so obsess to the tricks of magic.
In the end of nineteen century, the magicians played an important role in the society of London. The tricks they used in their performance were their most valuable assets. Alfred Borden who was a friend of Robert Angier was responsible to the death of Robert Angier's wife in a performance. This incident brought the rivalry of these two men. The rivalry became more intense when their skills and tricks used in their performance were improved. As a result, they started to mess up the performance of the other and bring their friendship to the end. Their hatred could not be undone when one of them performed the ultimate illusion.
I love this movie because it starts to build up the suspense when the story goes on. The suspense of how Alfred Borden performed the transported man. I keep my belief from what he said that he used the double to do this. Just like what was in Robert Angier's mind, this could not be that easy!! And this is not an easy task to find a man that exactly looks the same like the other. However the story did surprise me that Alfred did had a twin brother who altered the identities between Fallon and Alfred. I was thinking that how could a man live like this? We all do not want to share a wife with another person, do we?
Irony is always the main writing style of many movies, we all love surprise, don't we? However not all of ironies are favored. You definitely do not want a story end up with a dream or something similar to this because this will only disappoint us instead. However the irony in this story is just nice and hit our favor.
